Preview :: Shorts :: Take 3

Just a super cute preview of the next set of summer shorts. And we are lucky enough to have beautiful weather to "model" in. A few finishing touches and I'll do a full post.

Trash to treasure

I couldn't believe my luck when I spied this glass jar peeking out of someone's trash last night when we drove home for dinner. It looked pretty big, so after some quick convincing, my husband pulled a U-turn in traffic, jumped out of the car, and grabbed it for me! It is a HUGE 8 quart glass jar! And the coolest part... it is SQUARE! This is destined to become a terrarium this spring. One last birthday gift from the cosmos yesterday.

Rainy Friday

A grey day today, but perfect for planning the garden. We have a new raised bed this year, so it has been fun to think about planting new things. Here is our current list: peas, lettuce, spinach, kale, cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, butternut squash, watermelon, tomatoes (cherry, too), peppers (hot, too), eggplant, strawberries, rhubarb, garlic, chives, basil. I'm sure a few more will sneak their way in, but that's the plan for now.

Getting excited about my Merriment! The sleeves are done and now its time to steek! Last time (my first steek) I did a crochet reinforcement. I'm not sure if I want to do that or machine sew it this time.
